Banana chocolate chip cake

What does one do when one is faced with four over-ripe bananas nobody wants to eat anymore? One bakes something banana-y. Also: add chocolate. Adding chocolate is always a good idea.

While this may not be the prettiest or fanciest cake I have ever made it was extremely delicious. I got the recipe from bakersroyale (which you can find here) but used cream instead of buttermilk. It felt silly to get a whole bottle of buttermilk for this one recipe when nobody drinks it in this household. It turned out so moist and delicious and just heavenly. Next time I would divide the batter into four batches and bake four thin cakes to stack because when I tried to cut this one in four pieces I failed quite miserable. STILL GOOD THOUGH.

So chocolatey!

With cream cheese icing. I love cream cheese icing.

Next time you have some (over ripe) bananas lying around I advice you to try this recipe out. You won’t regret it.
